“Your submission from Dana reminded me of what happened at my cousin’s funeral. The priest (Church of Ireland) took a moment to tell the congregation that if you did not accept god into your heart then you would spend your eternity burning in hell, in eternal anguish. He said this with a fixed smile on his face, he also said it at the funeral of a man he died in an accidental caravan fire, a fire so intense that it destroyed part of my cousin’s leg.
When my cousin’s mother spoke to my mum afterwards she was distraught at his words, tactfully one of my aunts (born again Christian) said ‘Yes, but we know he’s right’. My mum nearly swung for her”
