“The other day my mum and I were talking about religion (mostly Christianity) and I told her about how I got into a fight at school with another girl over religion. I told her that I didn’t believe in anything and that I didn’t want to. My mum says to me that it’s okay, I can believe in anything I want as long as they worship God. I told her that no, your telling me that I can only believe in her God only. She goes on with examples of what I’m allowed to believe in: Lutheran, Methodist, Prebysterian, Catholic, Orthodox etc. She then concluded that since I was baptized in a Methodist Church, that’s what I should worship and If I ever join ’any religion where they wear weird clothes or worship animals’ she will only be okay with it as long as they worship God. I left the room.”
