“During my first year of college, two of my high school classmates died. I went to a small high school, so we all knew these girls and there were all the predictable God-related statuses and stuff about “see you in heaven!” The first girl who died was a strong Christian so it made sense, but the second was an atheist. I get everyone processes grief differently, but it seems insulting to her memory and her beliefs in life to say she’s “up there with Jesus” as I saw some people writing on Facebook.”
