“Another HP story: the summer that OotP came out (I was 16), I was visiting my very conservative/religious aunt and uncle. One day we went to a B&N and I mentioned that I had pre-ordered the book and my aunt flipped out on me. The rest of the way back to their house I was lectured on how it is a demonic book and will plant bad ideas. I kept thinking, it’s just a book. It’s fantasy. And there’s the trope of good beating evil. Ever since, I don’t talk about HP around her. Good riddance.”
