“Life isn’t fair! What’s not fair is she’s had two failed marriages and gay people in NC can’t even have one. /end sarcasm.”
Well, since it affected more than just “gays,” you’re right. No one is going to get over it though. Jerk.

“This started about the NC Amendment and then just goes to crazy town. Gay marriage = One world Government = EPA measuring your water?”
I don’t even know.

“M (the UNC fan) is a good friend of mine and I can hardly believe his own family treats him this way.  NC has shamed every decent person here.”
Agreed M. How different is sharia from what these Christians want really? It just means using their religion to guide their law. That is exactly what the kinds of Christians who fought for this amendment want. The major thing they disagree on is the status of Jesus as a prophet or not; when it comes to this nonsense, they are pretty much in agreement.

Why is there a heart after that?

So I finally saw that kind of person on my Facebook feed, and since I had a certain image on hand, I really couldn’t resist saying something. >_>
Addendum:

Delete your post? It would seem they had better ideas for you. STFU, Ralph.

“I guess civil rights are worldly possessions now? I do agree that I wish the lord would come back, because then these crazy nutters would be out of here.”
Great, Jesus will provide for YOUR needs. That sounds like YOUR issue, not ours.

“North Carolina just passed a constitutional amendment establishing marriage between a man and a woman as the only union recognized in the state.  There was a lot of disappointment on my facebook feed, but these were a couple of the more ignorant posts supporting the amendment.”
I’m not judging you, I just think I should get to dictate who can marry. Thanks, but judging seems like the better option here. How about you switch it up: judge all you want, but get the hell out of everyone else’s business.
(Thanks Corinne)

“I know it doesn’t specifically mention God in the status, but she’s Catholic and that’s why she’s so disgusted by the prospect of gay marriage.” Because the Catholic Church has so much room to talk.
Guess what? They do have true loved ones, they can adopt, and they will enjoy their sex. If for no other reason than to spite you.
In essence, you heinous bitch, STFU.

So many things to say. First, the idea of marriage precedes Christianity and existed in other cultures besides Christian ones so it really doesn’t have anything to do with God and definitely not solely YOUR God. Deal with it.
“My husband and I are atheists, does that mean our marriage doesn’t count to this guy?” Yep. My husband and I are atheists too and when we got married (after “living in sin” for years), my mother was living in the Bible belt and, as if it wasn’t bad enough people constantly asked her how she dealt with us living together unmarried, she then had to admit that even though we did get married, it was a secular ceremony because we are atheists. They were horrified of course.
See that person who likes this guy’s status btw? That’s his wife. Oy vey. I can tell you from his picture that their “purpose” has to do with making babies, too. Of course. These people just don’t seem to understand that marriage to a government is not marriage in the religious sense; that is why when you marry in a church you still have to apply for the license through the state.
And, sir, this does have to do with equality. You know what makes a healthy society? Good, kind, loving people who take care of one another and their society and ensure that they treat their fellows with respect. It is you who are threatening the health of the society. If you want you’re marriage to be between one man and one woman, congrats! You succeeded. Worry about that marriage instead of everyone else’s. Some traditions are good, but others are bad. Just because something has been going on for a long time doesn’t make it right or desirable (see war, rape, women as property, 40-year life expectancy, etc.).
So NP and LP, I have a message for you: STFU.
